From workplace to meeting place

Published on 24 February 2021

The new reality as a result of the corona pandemic is a lot of people working from home. After the pandemic we expect this to stay. With some exceptions, most employees see the advantages: less travel time, no more traffic jams, better focus, managing your own time, more time at and with the family. But does this mean we will not go to the office at all anymore? Absolutely not. Because even though there are many advantages, there is one thing our home can't offer: social contact with our colleagues and the feeling of connectedness to the organisation and with its work culture.

office as CLUBHouse

We are going back to the office, it just won't be our primary workplace. But what will it become? The office will transform towards a meeting place. A place where coming together and connection are central and a place that serves as a support of creative processes. A kind of clubhouse breathing warmth and hospitality and where a strong sense of community feeling reigns. This does not mean it's just a place for a relaxed match of table football or Friday afternoon drinks. That too, but it's mainly a place where the identity of the organisation is sensible and visible. Where an energy flows attracting employees. A place where you can discuss things, work together and relax with equal minded, working for the same cause. In short: a place where people like to be and in all freedom schedule their own (work) time.

HEALTHY SPACES, HAPPY PEOPLE

A healthy work environment has a positive effect on the feeling of happiness and the health of employees. Happy and healthy employees are satisfied employees, something the new office environment contributes to strongly. Obvious key factors in the interior regarding this topic are, amongst others, a healthy inner climate with sufficient fresh air and daylight, acoustic comfort, the use of natural and emission free materials and the application of a lot of green. But also offering facilities in the field of relaxing and nutrition like sports, meditation, gaming and a bar-restaurant with a healthy concept and local offering are part of this.

When we look at spaces we will see a multitude of diverse meeting, brainstorm, lounge and presentation rooms, filling the spot of the traditional individual workplaces. Warmly decorated rooms creating the feeling of a living room which invite to meeting and collaboration. Places will also stay available to meet the individual needs of employees to retreat for a bit, relax or quietly work on an assignment.

new challenge

Interior architects and designers face a new challenge when realising the changing office environment. There is not a standard blue print which works for every organisation. Every individual interior concept needs to be adjusted in close consultation with the client to the personal needs of the user and the individual dna of the organisation. Something we know about well at LEOXX. Inspiring, connecting, inviting, stimulating, creating peace: we know what a floor together with the other elements of the interior can do. With our balanced collection of high quality floors and interior materials which can be made to own liking, you can fill every meeting place completely tailor made. So bring on that challenge, we are happy to face it!
