Eco Core: a new standard in sustainable woven vinyl

ntgrate introduces Eco Core, a revolutionary development in sustainable woven vinyl. With this collection, which is made of 97% decarbonized materials, the Belgian manufacturer is taking a radical step in reducing virgin fossil resources. A uniqueness within the woven vinyl flooring industry, with which the sustainably operating company wants to take the lead in the transition to a post-fossil, climate-neutral future. For the Dutch market, ntgrate is represented by LEOXX, from whom Eco Core is now exclusively available.

CARBON FOOTPRINT reduction

The introduction of Eco Core is a logical step in ntgrate's sustainability journey and marks a tipping point in the sourcing of materials for overall product composition. Pascal Vantomme, CEO of ntgrate, believes that the biggest sustainability gains can be made in terms of CO2 reduction. "The only way to bring down the carbon footprint of our product is to drastically reduce the proportion of virgin fossil raw materials. We wanted to set a new standard by developing a floor that consists almost entirely of non-virgin fossil raw materials. All without compromising the quality and performance that our customers have come to expect from us. We are proud to say that we have now succeeded in doing just that with Eco Core." With a proportion of only 3% virgin fossil raw materials, Eco Core brings its carbon footprint down dramatically. The remaining 97% consists entirely of decarbonized materials, of which 55% are recycled, 23% mineral and 19% biobased content.

INCREASING DEMAND FOR SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVES

During the MaterialDistrict Utrecht event earlier this year, where LEOXX had the first opportunity to present Eco Core to the Dutch market, there was an enthusiastic response to the new collection. Vivian Vugts, Brand Manager of Hillfloor Group, of which LEOXX is part: "We are pleased to be able to meet the increasing market demand for truly sustainable alternatives with Eco Core. Government regulations and climate objectives such as the European Green Deal demand a new way of building and designing from architects and interior designers. Especially in government-led projects, we see that this plays a strong role. But the larger projects in other sectors such as offices, hospitality and retail are also changing course. In addition, Eco Core also ties in seamlessly with our own sustainability goal of making our collection ever more sustainable and contributing to reducing the ecological footprint."

COLORS AND DESIGNS

Eco Core is available for all items in ntgrate's updated Core collection. The jacquard woven vinyl flooring comes standard with an integrated 19 dB acoustic backing made from 93% recycled PET. The color palette is composed of nine timeless and neutral shades that can be used anywhere and easily combined. Each color is available in three different, stylish weave patterns: Soft, Shy and Subtle. Soft is a neutral, seamless pattern with an even look. Shy has a more pronounced character with its subtle concrete look. Subtle has a textured pattern reminiscent of a sophisticated linen look.
