Submitting your personal design or having it edited and formatted by Prints van Oranje? Or the need to discuss about your design and the possibilities of customized printing? You’ll most like be dealing with Sandra Hodde, our commercial designer. About a year ago she joined our team, about time to meet this cheerful coworker and her creative mind!

WHAT DO YOU DO AT PRINTS VAN ORANJE?

As commercial designer I support our clients in translating all their design wishes and ideas into a custom-made and personal interior. This sometimes begins already by reflecting on an idea, but can also be about the transition of colors, material advice, the formatting of a file or the editing of a photo. The personal contact with clients is one of the best aspects of my job. Create something beautiful together that matches the wishes and uniqueness of the client exactly gives a lot of satisfaction.

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

I work with just as much love on all projects, but a get a real kick from unique concepts that surprise and are outside of the box. From those designs that trigger and amaze. Especially the projects where we can create a total experience make my heart beat faster. But actually all custom printing materials we provide are special. Whether it’s for big or small project, the effect of custom prints can immediately be seen and makes a big difference for the experience a space offers.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?

My inspiration comes from everything that appeals to my senses. From travelling and culture, dance and music, architecture and nature to a good glass of wine or a surprising mix of tastes in a dish. My coworkers says taste is my most developed sense. I just can’t stop talking about good food! In the field of design and interior I like to get inspired by a combination of different design genres, also known as eclectic design. It is very surprising how you can make various elements come together in an exciting and contrasting design which despite, or maybe because of, the contradictions still manages to form a coherent unity. My favorite designers and biggest inspirations in this field are Sasha Bikoff, Iris Apfel and Studio Job. They truly design great things!

WHEN IS YOUR WORKDAY SUCCESSFUL?

I can get very happy when a personal message with the compliments of a satisfied customer or beautiful reference picture come in. Especially when we get invited to take a look on-site to admire the final result. Than you can see what you do it for. But also if there are problems and I can contribute to a solution makes me feel good. Furthermore, I can really enjoy the interaction with my coworkers. When we in addition to the hard work have had a good day of laughter, I drive home with a big smile on my face!
