Health first with the anti-microbial technology of Amtico

It’s not surprising that we value safety, health and good hygiene a lot during these times. Not just in healthcare, the food processing industry or hospitality, but also at the office, in stores and even at home the importance of a clean and bacteria free environment is bigger than ever. That’s why Amtico introduces a new development for extra protection and peace of mind: the addition of an anti-microbial technology to the Amtico Form-collection.

HOw does it work exactly?

The anti-microbial technology of Amtico is made possible by the addition of ionic silver. Ionic silver is an additive of which has been proven to tackle the growth of bacteria like MRSA or E. coli during the entire operable lifespan of the product. Independent tests of the Form-collection Have shown a reduction of no less than 99.99% in bacteria over 24 hours. On top of that, the use and wear of the LVT-floors don’t effect the ant-microbial features. Sped-up aging tests from Amtico have demonstrated the capability of ionic silver to be just as effective after ten years. Even cleansing with aggressive chemicals like bleach, alcohol and MEK don’t remove this built-in protection against bacteria.

Availability and application

The anti-microbial technology is available for almost all floors in the Amtico Form-collection, with exception of the Barrel Oak-products. The technology has also been integrated in the Amtico Marine-collection, a collection suitable for application in the maritime sector. At short-notice the anti-microbial protection will also become available to the Signature and Spacia floors. All collections referred to are project suitable and perfectly applicable to spaces being used intensively. Only phthalate free and biological softeners are used an the collections carry amongst others an Indoor Air Comfort Gold and M1-certification. This makes them extremely suitable for projects where well-being is central and which are being built conform BREEAM or LEED.
