Café Het Udenaartje

Café ‘Het Udenaartje’ is a household name in Uden. The family bar with cosy family atmosphere went through a thorough make-over, during which almost everything was renewed. Yet, not everything disappeared from the pub in Uden. Renewal on the places where this offered added value, but also keeping the charm of the original elements is what the renewed cafe het Udenaartje makes such unique.

Old BRowN CAFÉ IN a new jacket

The Udenaartje breathes the atmosphere of an old brown café, but in a modern implementation. The original facade made place for an entirely renewed window section equipped with arched windows with stained glass. Amongst others by adding two additional doors to the side of the premise, there has not just been created a better routing, but also additional natural light. The extensive roofed terrace that was added, was the finishing touch. The most special element in the pub is the keeping of the original bar with gold colored tap, the centrepiece of the business. Swink Design, responsible for the new interior design: “Coming into conversation with the stem guests and making sure everyone’s ‘fixed’ spot wouldn’t get lost, was a beautiful challenge. By not just reusing the location, but also the bar itself for the main part, we have kept a beautiful piece of the identity of the old pub in Uden.”

AUTHENTIc bar floors

The authentic bar atmosphere is enhanced by the application of two designer floors with LVT-planks and tiles form Amtico, which can be barely distinguished from real. In the bar area the dark brown planks with a rustic wooden design have been used. The look of aged, altered wood strengthens the look of a brown café floor. In the seating area, where guests can take place at a table, the Key Stone Mini floor design form the Designers’ Choice collection form Amtico has been used. The design reminds of an old tile floor and matches the typical pub atmosphere which makes Het Udenaartje so special.
