Brewery Durs

Brouwerij Durs is the one and only city brewery of Arnhem. The local brewer developed unique authentic Arnhem beers with Arnhem sounding names like ‘Dakhaas’, ‘Dikke Prins’, ‘Geutpisser’ and ‘Schuume’. The starting point for the interior design of the brewery and the attached taproom was an atmosphere which supports the experience of a special beer in an optimal way. Central to this are the water from the Sint-Jans creek and a sturdy authentic look.

An ODE to the ARNHEM WATER

An important component of beer is water. Water formerly deriving from the creeks of Arnhem, amongst them is the Sint-Jans creek which had a central role in the development of the city. Hence the blue on the walls, like the space is filled with water. In it swims the well-known goldfish from the Sint-Jans creek, recently introduced in there with its peers. In the interior a mix of old and new products is applied, executed in bold and authentic materials, with as the centerpiece the stainless kettles. For the implementation of the design, as many local parties as possible have been involved and products of Arnhem designers have been applied.

Lifelike tile PRINT

For the wall behind the bar Prints van Oranje provided a golden wallcovering of mosaic tiles. The material for the tile print had to be shiny and washable. Because of the transparent layer of the exclusive printing wallcovering the golden and glossy highlights stand out especially beautiful. The result is a stylish tiled wall that cannot be distinguished from areal one and which gives a luxurious touch to the whole.
