Brunel Delft

For the new office environment of specialized deployment agency Brunel in Delft, HEYLIGERS architects developed a new workplace concept and corporate identity. The starting point was to create a homely atmosphere, within an environment suitable for hybrid working. The themes of energy transition and sustainability serve as a guideline for the design and have been integrated throughout the entire office.

DIVERSITY OF WORPLACES AND WORKSPACES

The vast diversity of spaces offers employees maximum mobility and supports different preferences of working and coming together. Besides flexible workspaces with proper working conditions, there also is a focus room and various ‘pods’ have been placed for online calls and phone calls. The flexible workstations have been alternated with round seating spots and steel frames in which whiteboards and plants have been placed. The area with the special features like the ‘pods’, various seating spots and a scrum room, has been marked with a wooden rank ceiling. For relaxation during the working day there is a relaxation area. The spaces where the job interviews take place, each have their own theme around renewable energy. There is for example a solar, turbine and hydrogen room. This is reflected amongst others in the wall finishing and the special lighting fixtures.

SUSTAINABLE AND MODULAR FLOOR APPLICATION

All applied materials in the new workplace concept are sustainable and/or circular. This also applies to the Sand 1 carpet tiles from the FleXXeco collection of LEOXX. These modular floors have been made of sustainable Econyl yarn, a 100% recycled and recyclable fiber of waste material like old textile and carpet scraps and discarded fishnets. With their soft concrete look they almost naturally blend with the rest of the interior and the other floor coverings. At the same time they help with the division of different zones and their functions. Due to the natural way in which this has been done, you as user stay in constant touch with the environment, while knowing exactly which room has which function.
