VPRO, BNNVARA, NTR

At the Mediapark in Hilversum BNNVARA, NTR and VPRO make their tv programs under the same roof. The broadcasting agencies have a shared entrance hall where guests are welcomed and share a restaurant, but they work in spaces resembling their own identity. Workshop of Wonders and N interieurarchitecten designed the offices of BNNVARA and the NTR as well as the entrance building with the new restaurant, which the VPRO also uses.

The old entrance building was for the most part hidden underneath a road and behind frosted glass walls. Visitors entered through a raised part of the pavement, passing a modest entrance to continue to one of the three broadcasting agencies across frosted glass hallways.

Workshop of Wonders saw the opportunity to connect a very big, not visible before area with the entrance and the conference room above. A hidden space was made open and a new experience of the space was created. Workshop of Wonders: “It has become the place where employees of the three broadcasting agency meet each other on a daily basis and the guests are welcomed with grandeur. By processing dosed theatrical elements in the light, the furniture, the acoustic walls and the floor, the three broadcasting agency melt together into a common media atmosphere, without overdoing it." 

Let's continue to the office spaces. Broadcasting agency BNNVARA is an opiniated club asking for an outspoken interior. An expressive work environment has been created from timbered boxes, hard colours and graphical expressions. This matched well with a characteristic, calm foundation, which was found in two contrasting carpet tiles.

Broadcasting agency NTR is very diverse and '(e)special(ly) for everyone!' Both unity as diversity had to come back in the floor design. Colourful, soft function areas with carpet tiles contrast with a foundation of a concrete-grey PVC tile.
