Town hall Almere

A LIgHT fLOoR with a heavy duty

For the modernisation of the town hall in Almere, the architects of Fokkema & Partners had a modern, light and transparent look in mind. They were looking for a tight floor in light tones which could resist intensive use. Part of the interior after all is a public space visited by a lot of people. That’s also why ease of maintenance was an explicit wish.

Fast to clean and wear resistant

The choice was made for the indestructible Rough casted floor in the lightest tone. This floor is guaranteed scratch resistant and easy to keep clean – extra important because of the light tone of course. The casted floor was combined with FleXX Wood to create different areas and emphasize the catering area. FleXX Wood has a beautiful mat, authentic wooden look. The PVC floor is also extraordinary wear resistant and with its skid resistance very safe regarding to all health and safety standards. 

PERFECTly MATCHing floor types

For the FleXX Wood a loose lay variety has been chosen. It has multiple stabilisation layers as build-up of the product, which is beneficial for the acoustics. The atmospheric wooden look of FleXX Wood forms a nice tight combination together with the light Rough casted floor, letting the functionality speak.
